The Oregon Ballet Academy Performs its Spring Concert on June 10

Eugene, OR – May 30, 2018 – The Oregon Ballet Academy will host its annual Spring Concert on Sunday, June 10 at the Lane Community College auditorium. The show will be performed at 1 p.m. and, again, at 6 p.m.

The Spring Concert will feature the work of each age group, both girls and boys. Artistic director, John Grensback will lead the upper school students, ages 10-17, as well as the entirety of the boy’s program. While the lower school students, ages 3-10, will be directed by the lower school director, Felicia Sanders.

“Each time we do it, in many different ways, it gets bigger and bigger,” said Grensback. “The kids are capable of more usually, and there’s not one unhappy camper as far as those that leave the theater.”

This year, the boy’s piece titled ‘Seize the Day’ has been a major part of the OBA’s concert. Directed by Grensback, this piece was put together in the OBA Boys Free Tuition Program, which is funded by the Oregon Ballet Foundation. Each Wednesday, the OBA offers free boys ballet classes from 6:15-7:30 p.m. in an effort to increase the presence of boys within ballet.

Tickets can be purchased both online or at the door. Adult tickets are $15 and children tickets are $12. To buy tickets online, visit the Oregon Ballet Academy website,, and click on the link for the Spring Concert.

The Lane Community College auditorium is also wheelchair accessible, but the best seats are going fast. Please contact Megan Murphy with any questions, concerns, or interest in the Spring Concert or anything regarding the Oregon Ballet Academy at (541) 338-7800 or via email at
